Hello Customers and friends. As you may be aware Masterforge has been experiencing many issues recently, focused around quality and delivery from the forges we use. The majority of orders are taking well over a year to be delivered. When realistically they could be completed in three months or so. When we receive them they are nearly always wrong. Issues have included wrong sizes, colours, and not to the specification stated. We often find product faults such as scratched blades, glue mess and scabbards that do not fit properly. We have tried over many years to work with the forge to fix these issues and develop and grow together. If they had worked with us, Masterforge would have been far more successful however, all faults are coming from the forge, which, is out of our control and they are not willing to improve their quality and customer service. With this in mind we have cancelled all orders and returned customers money. With great sadness I have been forced to close Masterforge, as we can no longer continue to operate under these conditions. I have enjoyed talking to you all and I really do value your time and patience and have the utmost respect for you personally. I have been approached and asked what forges I could recommend that can provide good quality and service. I have thought long and hard about this and can say that none of the Chinese forges to my knowledge are capable of consistency in quality and delivery. I am aware that our customers are approaching forges in China. In that respect I urge you not to use Qing Zhong and Zheng wu (English site). They have been our suppliers and are run by Kenneth Hakegard. I have personally refunded our customers and I hope to be refunded by Kenneth. If you choose to deal with Chinese smiths I would highly recommend payment upon delivery. Alternatives to Chinese smiths include Japanese and western smiths. They are known for their quality, consistency and customer service. If I were to look for something completly custom I would be approaching these places. We have some remaining stock that will be sold through the forum, which will remain active. In regards to the swords for sale. They are up for sale as the customer stated specific measurements and the forge did not meet these requirements. There are no actual defects. I will be active on the forum and you can reach me through there or email sales@masterforge.co.uk I will be discussing these issues further in the forum so people are fully aware of the situation. Yours truly,
